With our PIMA yogurt culture, we have added another yogurt starter from Scandinavia to our range. These and many other old natural yoghurts are becoming increasingly rare. Unfortunately, this unique yogurt variation is disappearing from the markets. It is important to keep these old traditional varieties alive. We would like to contribute a part with our work :-)
What does Piima yogurt taste like?
Our Piima yoghurt is the thinnest of the mesophilic natural yoghurts. If you like the consistency of honey, you will love the homemade piima. Because they have almost the same viscosity. Our Piima yogurt convinces with a slightly nutty, mild & cheesy taste. Our Piima natural yoghurt is often refined with various fruits and enjoyed as drinking yoghurt.
Our delicious yogurt starter is a so-called heirloom variety. This means that once you have taken care of the yoghurt culture and made Piima natural yoghurt yourself, you can vaccinate again and again. It's like milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha. In principle, once you have the starter bacteria, you can endlessly make yoghurt yourself and pass it on :-) This yoghurt starter fermentes mesophilically. Mesophile means that the yogurt only needs room temperature for the fermentation.
