Baking without flour and this with your selfmade milk kefir is perfect for your guests. An easy and quick kefir cake recipe with an amazing taste result. Try it yourself!

For this delicous kefir cake recipe you need the following ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 400g grated pumpkin (butternut or Hokkaido)
  • 250g durum wheat semolina
  • 100g cane sugar*
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • Citrus peel of 1 organic citrus
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 300ml self-made probiotic milk kefir made from organic kefir grains – get your kefir grains here*

For the syrup:

All ingredients ready? Then let´s go for the recipe!

  1. Grate 400g pumpkin
  2. Mix all ingredients for the dough carefully in a bowl
  3. Use an extra bowl to mix the ingredients for the syrup carefully together
  4. Bake the cake 45-40 min on 200°c
  5. Take out the hot cake and rinse the syrup over it
  6. Now you have a juicy kefir pumpkin cake you can now garnish with some cream
  7. Enjoy the cake!

Ingredients

  • For the dough
  • 300ml kefir
  • 400g grated pumpkin (butternut or Hokkaido)
  • 250g durum wheat semolina

  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • Citrus peel of 1 organic citrus
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • For the syrup
  • 150g coconut blossom sugar
  • 100ml water
  • 50ml citrus juice of 1 citrus

Grate 400g pumpkin

Mix all ingredients for the dough carefully in a bowl

Use an extra bowl to mix the ingredients for the syrup carefully together

Bake the cake 45-40 min on 200°c

Take out the hot cake and rinse the syrup over it

Now you have a juicy kefir pumpkin cake you can now garnish with some cream
