Fermenting veggies is very easy and everyone can ferment at home. In this recipe we show you how you can make your own selfmade pickled cucumbers. They are super tasty, spicy and homemade with love. Try it yourself!
For this easy fermented cucumber recipe recipe you need those ingredients
- 946ml glass with lit, fermentation air lock and glass weights – you can easily buy our fermentation glasses and equipment here*
- 1 big cucumber
- 1 Tbsp mustard seeds
- 15 peppercorns
- 2 garlic gloves
- 500ml water
- 10g salt
- 2 small onions
Do you have everything? This is how to make your own fermented cucumbers yourself!
- Wash cucumbers, cut off the ends and slice into 5cm thick pieces
- Let cucumbers soak in cool water for 1-2 hours to make them super fresh and crunchy
- Dissolve 10g salt into 500ml water
- Cut garlic and onions into small pieces and put together with peppercorns and mustard seeds into the glass.
- Add cucumbers and fill in the salty water water on top until all cucumbers are covered
- Now, add the glass weigts and close the glass with the fermentation air lock and lit
- Let it ferment 5 days on room temperature and store it cool afterwards. After 1-2 weeks the cucumbers have the best taste
