Make SKYR yogurt yourself Yogurt ferment | Natural yogurt from Island
This offer includes:
- the 3x 25g Skyr yoghurt to make scandinavian natural yoghurt at home
Anyone who has been making natural yoghurt for a while and maybe also cultivated a milk kefir or kombucha at home will usually feel like doing something else after a certain time. Now the time has come! May we introduce: Skyr. This unique yogurt has been part of the Icelanders' fixed menu for over 1,000 years.
What does Skyr taste like?
The taste of our Skyr yoghurt is comparable to that of Greek yogurt; in terms of texture, it is more reminiscent of crème fraiche or soft cheese.
Our delicious yogurt starter is a so-called heirloom variety. That means that once you've got your hands on yogurt culture and made Skyr natural yogurt yourself, you can keep on vaccinating. It is like milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha, etc. Once you have the starter bacteria, you can basically make yogurt yourself and pass it on :-) This yogurt starter ferments thermophilically. Thermophilic means that the yogurt needs a yogurt maker for fermentation.
What other yoghurt specialties do you have on offer?
- Bulgarian yogurt
- Greek yogurt
- Matsoni (Caspian Sea) yogurt
- Viili yogurt
- Filmjolk yogurt
