The range of delicious yoghurt cultures is very wide and many countries have their own yoghurt cultures. Our Amasi yogurt starter has its origin in Africa and complements our range with another fermented specialty.
What does Amasi yogurt taste like?
Our homemade Amasi yoghurt is very similar in taste to our milk kefir. The result is a thin, fermented milk drink with a very mild, slightly sour taste.
While the Amasi yogurt is pretty much a staple of the population in African regions, it is still very rare to find in Europe. But bit by bit we are conquering the world of fermentation and will soon be able to offer you an even wider range of fermenters :-)
Our delicious yogurt starter is a so-called heirloom variety. This means that once you have taken care of the yoghurt culture and made Amasi natural yoghurt yourself, you can vaccinate again and again. It's like milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha. In principle, once you have the starter bacteria, you can endlessly make yoghurt yourself and pass it on :-) This yoghurt starter fermentes mesophilically. Mesophile means that the yogurt only needs room temperature for the fermentation.
