Sour cream is very important in traditional cuisine. Whether for dressings, for baking or dips everywhere, sour cream can be used to get even more out of the dishes. Not only to maintain a pleasant consistency but also to round off the taste. Of course you can also buy sour cream ready in the supermarket ... but homemade tastes best, right?
Our delicious sour cream starter is a so-called heirloom variety. This means that once you have gotten the sour cream bacteria and made sour cream yourself, you can vaccinate again and again. It is like milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha etc. Once you have the starter bacteria, you can in principle make endless sour cream yourself and pass it on :-) This bacterial culture fermentes mesophilically. Mesophile means that the cream only needs room temperature for fermentation.
