INTEST.pro is a self-test for taking a stool sample in a familiar environment, such as at home.

INTEST.pro is an innovative, DNA-based intestinal flora test. It not only identifies certain strains of bacteria (as previously known methods), but also determines and interprets almost the entire spectrum of intestinal bacteria. The analysis is based on a tiny stool sample that can be easily taken at home and sent to the laboratory. Already in a pin head-sized amount of stool there is enough microbial DNA, which maps the entire genome of the intestinal bacteria and gives the personal intestinal flora profile. Important: BIOMES does not analyze human, but microbial DNA (that of the intestinal bacteria).

The results of INTEST.pro provide information about the personal intestinal flora profile and individual recommendations for action to improve the intestinal flora. A nutritional plan that is tailored to the personal intestinal flora helps to implement the nutritional recommendations. Difference to common analysis methods / analyzes by the doctor


The difference to many previously known analyzes lies in the analysis method. Common laboratory analyzes (e.g. prescribed by a doctor) require a large amount of stool, which is spread on a nutrient medium. After a few days, the growth of the bacteria contained is counted and from this conclusions can be drawn about their colonization in the intestine. With this so-called cultivation method, however, countless bacteria die (e.g. because they cannot live under oxygen) when the sample is transported to the laboratory, while the ratio of the others changes significantly. Only about 15-20% of the intestinal bacteria can be analyzed using this conventional method.

BIOMES basically works differently: Bacteria also have DNA and this is contained in the smallest amounts of stool. The INTEST.pro sample container therefore contains a DNA-stabilizing solution that preserves the bacteria for months at the time of removal. In the laboratory, BIOMES finally obtains a precise picture of almost all known bacteria using the latest methods of DNA sequencing (so-called next-generation sequencing). This image is interpreted using the BIOMES knowledge database, which contains the results of over 7,000 scientific studies on the intestinal flora. In this way, each customer receives an individual evaluation that is understandably prepared and does not require any prior knowledge.
